Advertising: A Money Pit of Wasted Resources (Section)

RATIONALE STATEMENT: This is the resume of Lopaze Weblications; it lists most of the sites and graphics I have created over the last decade. As a small business owner since the age of 18, I have built my firm from the ground up, from professional relationship to professional relationship. I had to prove myself every step of the way, working long hours just to be taken seriously, but I would also do cold-call sites. In most cases I would build a relationship first, and then build from there. From the look and feel of the site, to the people it was directed at, the relationship I formed helped me get a better idea of the personality the site would convey.

Each site is or was targeted at a certain demographic, or market, whether it be age, gender, geographic location, or even what a person enjoys doing in their spare time. All the sites in my portfolio demonstrate at least one of the following competencies

EXAMPLE: I learned the nuts and bolts of targeting advertising campaigns to certain demographics and market segments in Principles of Marketing class in the Spring of 2005, and Principles of Advertising in the Fall of 2005. In the Marketing class my group designed a cooler/radio combination in response to a project where we were tasked with designing a product that would sell to beachgoers in their early 20s. As a premium, we included a Frisbee-shaped ice pack with the first 100 coolers purchased through our direct mail marketing campaign. In the Advertising class, I took the helm at designing a television commercial for a fictitious ski resort and included voice-overs and scripts written by my group members.

Marketing via Internet and Social Media Sites (Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, Etc...)

Most marketing campaign sites included Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube social media accounts thrown into the marketing mix. Current active social media accounts for my sites are AmyChelini.com, DowntownNewLondon.com, TrudeaDental.com, BigRedRun.com, Sailfest.org, Neff Productions, and Lopaze Creations. Past social media groups/pages were created for Bank Street Roadhouse, and United States Fight League. YouTube accounts were created for United States Fight League, DowntownNewLondon.com, and KatieMarieMusic.com. Comprehensive email marketing campaigns were designed especially for United States Fight League, DowntownNewLondon.com and Sailfest.org, but also implemented for KatieMarieMusic.com and www.BankStreetRoadhouse.com.
